About
Geeta Sharma lived in Basildon. Initiated by HH Kadamba Kanana Swami and was given the name Gopi Chandan Devi Dasi.
Gopi Chandan served with School of Bhakti formerly College of Vedic Studies and launched the Retreats department. Her first retreat was to Mayapur 2018 and since then has allowed so many students to visit the holy dhams.

I didn’t take the opportunity to get to know such a great person but any interactions we did have were when Maharaj was there. She always was eager to serve and seemed like a very kind person.
Praying for her onward journey
Hare Krsna, My heartfelt condolences to the family of Gopi Chandan Devi dasi. Sending my prayers to you all during this difficult time. I remember meeting her and her husband Rahul for the first time many years ago, perhaps in 2015, at a sanga in Canada Water I think. Even then her enthusiasm for Krishna Consciousness was very evident and I found very inspiring. In the years that followed, I would always feel really happy when I would hear about Rahul and Geeta involved in services and seeing their spiritual progress. From being relatively new to the philosophy to doing… Read more »
Dearest Gopi Chandan, my beloved best friend and sister, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Words can’t express the sorrow and heavy heart I am feeling. I’m not sure how I will carry on without you here with me. I met you in 2016 at a house program at my home. You make such amazing cupcakes and I knew instantly I want to be your friend and you were so sweet! Nothing was too much for you and since then our friendship blossomed. We have had so many adventures in service and I will never forget… Read more »
Hare Kṛṣṇa dear Gopi Chandan mataji, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to you for your wonderful services. I still can’t believe that you’re no longer with us because you’ve always been such a strong, hard-working, persistent, and dedicated warrior devotee with the kind of fighting spirit I’ve only seen in Srila Prabhupada’s disciples. Even though we haven’t known each other that well, I’ll always be grateful for your sweet association, and I’ll always look up to you as my older sister. You’ve been so kind, supportive, understanding, and lovely to serve with. Thank… Read more »
Dear Gopi Chandan Mataji
I have only met you once at a devotee’s place over Kirtan, what a beautiful and humble being you were, never felt I was meeting them for the first time. So warm and approachable. It seems I am learning so much about Mataji after her physical departure. May your onward journey be filled with his grace and love of Lord. Such a wonderful person. may she rest in peace.
Mataji was an amazingly polite motivating and inspiring soul for everyone,
She never shared her pain, I would never know that she was going through so much trouble before Rama Bihari prabhuji once told me.
She was a wonderful person, I still remember the day when Mataji got initiated and also when she shared her excellent experiences and memories of visiting Vrindāvan Dhām.
The vacuum created by her departure cannot be filled I pray for the onward journey of the departed soul and emotional strength to Rama Bihari prabhu ji and other grieving friends and family.

Dearest Gopi Chandan, my beloved godsister. From the first moment I met you all those years ago, while we were on the Bhakti Shastri course, I could see what a diamond you were. A brilliant, lustrous, shining multi-faceted gem with a molten heart of gold. You were so sincere, always asking questions about how you can improve your sadhana and services. We subsequently met on retreats and sangas and each time you impressed me by just being who you are – so warm and selfless, with an enquiring mind for the deeper meanings of Bhakti. A true spiritual practitioner. Time… Read more »

Pure souls like Geeta bhabhi donot lose people but people lose them. I am one of the luckiest person who got chance to be one of her family member as brother in law.Her spiritual side was very impressive. I remember she used to tell me about her experience on her spiritual classes and subjects like Bhagavad Geeta, bhagavatam and upanishads. She used to say to me that I am the right candidate for Krishna’s consciousness. I always felt blessed after having conversations with her. She was the gem of persons. She had accumulated key attribute required for Krishna ‘s bhakti… Read more »
Dearest Gopi Chandan. First time I met you it was at a house sangha. Soon as you came through the door I thought wow what a smart Mataji. Lovely make-up, dress was so lovely, nails done. Even though you were so elevated in your service you didn’t lose your identity. Great qualities. We spoke about the Nth India Retreat and you said to me to get intouch with you with any queries. So nice so kind. Janmashtami 2023 you weren’t well but still came to work on a spreadsheet for Asha and team. Then turning up at Janmashtami with your… Read more »
“Never. We never lose our loved ones. They accompany us; they don’t disappear from our lives. We are merely in different rooms.”
Geeta Sharma ( Bhabhi ) is one of the finest family member. Here i am not using WAS, as her memories are with us and will be with us throughout our lives.

Dearest Gopi Chandan was always so eager to serve, and her heart was captured in serving devotees by inviting them home, and by her dedicated service at the Manor.
She carried herself with grace, was always so enthusiastic and had a real creative flair about her.
I am sorry that we did not get to spend more time together. Certainly, this is my loss.
Your presence and your smile will be missed.
Praying for your onward journey. May Guru and Krishna continue to bless you.
I didn’t much association with Gopi Chandan other than whilst attending a CVS retreat in India which she and Rahul prabhu organised so well. There were a few occasions when we connected briefly at Janmastami festivals and was really happy to see her receive initiation. Whenever I saw Gopi Chandan, I was always in awe – she never complained about her health. She would be in and out of hospital frequently – having dialysis, blood transfusions, tests. Never did I hear her whinge, moan, grumble. If she couldn’t serve much, she’d just say she needs to sit as her health… Read more »
I only met Gopi chandan mataji once recently. She was a very warm and down to earth vaishnavi. Soft spoken and felt like she had very soft heart. My humble obeisances to this beautiful soul who has now departed from our vision.
I had the honour of working with Geeta as her manager since 2017. She was quite simply the kindest and most generous soul I’ve ever met. Geeta always treated everyone with warmth and respect. She was popular with customers and colleagues and we will miss her enormously. She didn’t always share detail on her faith in the workplace but in every way, she lived and breathed her spirituality. On behalf of all her colleagues at BioProjet in UK, Ireland and France, sending our sincere condolences to all her family and friends.
Hare Krishna dear Gopi Chandan mataji. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to our dearest Gurudev. We came into contact with each other about 3 years ago during the Caitanya Caritamrita marathon. Since then we have kept in contact and our friendship grew. Even though I have only met you about 4 or 5 times,we kept in contact via WhatsApp and exchanged sweet messages. In all your messages, you always mentioned your strong desire to keep serving in Srila Prabhupadas mission no matter what and you truly achieved it. You never complained about your… Read more »
