Satya Devi Dasi
23rd MArch 1947 – 20th January 2024
A dedicated servant of Radha Gokulananda and the Vaisnavas for over four decades.
About
Our dearest Mother Satya has departed this morning Saturday 20th January 2024. She was a dedicated servant of Radha Gokulananda. Over the years she rendered many services, from Book distribution, Life Membership, Gardens and the Kitchens.
Over the last few years she has served at the Gurukula – making sure the grounds are safe for the children, planting and maintaining the flowers and plants. She’s cooked feasts on many occasions not only for the children but for the whole Gurukul family.

Dear Satya you were such a dedicated follower of Sri Krsna and you worked hard over the many years serving Srila Prabupada and all the devotees .I am sure Krsna is right by your side
Dear Mother Satya,
Please accept my obeisances and respect for all the service you have rendered to Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda and the devotees over 40 years! You were always serving and friendly and Srila prabhupad’s called you now. I admire your life of service and your example and pray for your onward journey
Our dear Mother Satya’s life showed us all a wonderful example of how to be enthusiastic and dedicated to pleasing all the Vaisnavas. Her tireless service in the gardens of the gurukula, her wonderful cooking, her dedication to Lord Jagannatha and to Radha Gokulananda are a shinning example of a pure heart. I will miss her warm smile and her endless enthusiasm for service.
My dear Satya Devi,
We were not close but the contact I had with you was always one that showed your immense kindness.
A time of sadness and happiness entwined into feelings beyond material conception. This world is never kind because what it gives to us for our happiness it also takes away for our sadness.
There is no cheating death, no hiding from the grim reaper, not a seconds respite. Only a vaishnava or vaishnavi can know real freedom in this world.
I know that you are now in a nuch better place.
Om Tat Sat & Hare Krishna!
Auntie Satya always got things done, efficiently, with a massive dose of hard work, good spirit, some humour, honest chat and seriously fabulous samosas. Whether it was her café, Gurukula, Manor kitchen or her garden in Goshala she never did shy away from practical service. How she said goodbye to this troubled world is precisely how she lived: efficient, Krsna Councious, and surrounded by loads of love. When we, Yogamaya and myself, came to see her few hours before she left we had no idea it will be our last time. Auntie Satya showed no signs of being in pain,… Read more »

But I am sure that I wasn’t the only one But now I only feel gratitude and appreciation To help me help you on your journey Everyone please… Read more »
In honour of Satya Devi Dasi I have known Satya since the early 80s. We first worked together in the offices at Sandown Road in Watford for the life membership and fund raising department under Jalakara Prabhu. That was around 1985. I was just getting to know her really at that time. She was always very efficient at whatever she did and worked hard to achieve the best she could give, that is a trait we will see in her throughout her various services in ISKCON. I always liked her straight forward nature and never found it uncomfortable being around… Read more »
Such wonderful memories prabhu I remember in hospital she would often ask about you and your health, and daily mention you she truly cared for the devotees. Aunty would often joke with me and say Ananta is one of the rare ones I never had a fight with.
